1 PRO BASKETBALL:

Harrison Barnes of the Sacramento Kings became the latest NBA player to reveal that he has coronaviru­s, saying he hopes to join his team at the league’s restart later this summer. Barnes is the only player who has started all 64 of the Kings’ games this season.

PRO HOCKEY: 2

The New York Islanders signed goaltender Ilya Sorokin to a $2 million contract for next season. A third-round pick in 2014, Sorokin, 24, was among the Kontinenta­l Hockey League’s best goalies this past season. The Islanders are one of several teams going into the playoffs with a goaltendin­g competitio­n.

PRO BASEBALL: 3

The St. Louis Cardinals’ team Hall of Fame induction ceremony was postponed because of the pandemic. This year’s class of Bill White, John Tudor and Tommy Herr will be enshrined along with next year’s class in August 2021.

PRO BASEBALL: 4

The Toronto Blue Jays will honor the late Tony Fernandez by wearing a patch with his No. 1 on the left sleeve of their jerseys. Fernandez is the Blue Jays’ career leader in games (1,450), hits (1,583) and triples (72). He spent 12 seasons with Toronto in four stints and had 2,276 hits over 17 big league seasons. He had kidney problems and died Feb. 16 at age 57.

PRO TENNIS: 5

Former top-10 player Lucas Pouille, 26, will have surgery on his right elbow next month and miss the return of sanctioned tennis — if the tours do return in August from a pandemicfo­rced hiatus. The Frenchman hasn’t competed on tour since last October.

PRO TENNIS: 6

The Swiss Indoors tournament has been canceled because of the pandemic. Roger Federer is a 10-time champion at the tournament but he was set to miss the event, along with the rest of the 2020 season, to let his right knee recover from two surgeries.
