AUTO RACING:

Matt Crafton had won more Truck Series championsh­ip than he’d had races the past couple years. That finally changed Saturday. The 44-year-old ended a three-year winless streak when the threetime and reigning series champ held off Christian Eckes over the final 20 laps to win the second race of a doublehead­er at Kansas Speedway. It was his first victory since Eldora in July 2017.

PRO GOLF:

Renato Paratore won the British Masters for his second career victory on the European Tour on Saturday after closing with a 2-under 69 containing his first bogeys of the week. Paratore finished 18 under overall, three strokes ahead of Rasmus Højgaard (70), as the European Tour made its full return following a four-month suspension because of the pandemic.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL:

Oklahoma has moved its opener against Missouri State up a week to Saturday, Aug. 29. The Sooners said the NCAA approved a waiver request from both schools to change the date to allow more schedule flexibilit­y amid the coronaviru­s pandemic. Oklahoma is set to face Tennessee in another home game Sept. 12, then travel to Army for a Sept. 26 contest.

BASEBALL:

Nationals catcher Tres Barrera was suspended 80 games without pay Saturday after testing positive for an anabolic steroid. MLB said Barrera, a 25-year-old who made his major league debut last September, tested positive for the performanc­e-enhancing substance DHCMT, the chemical compound that fueled athletes in the former East Germany.

COLLEGE BASKETBALL:

Missouri players Xavier Pinson, Mitchell Smith and Jeremiah Tilmon Jr. withdrew from the NBA draft Friday and will return to the Tigers for the upcoming season.
