1 PRO HOCKEY: Eddie Shack, one of the NHL’s most colorful players on and off the ice, has died. He was 83. Known for his bruising style, distinctiv­e skating gait and big personalit­y, Shack won four Stanley Cups with Toronto in the 1960s. The native of Sudbury, Ontario, played parts of 17 seasons from 1958 through 1975 with six different teams, including nine years with the Maple Leafs.

2 PRO BASEBALL: Red Sox LHP Eduardo Rodriguez is awaiting results of additional testing after doctors discovered an issue with his heart they believe is a result of his recent bout with COVID-19. He tested positive for the coronaviru­s before summer camp but was cleared and returned to workouts July 18. He hasn’t had another positive test, but said an MRI revealed myocarditi­s, which the team’s medical staff felt was serious enough to shut him down for at least a week.

3 PRO BASEBALL: Reds second baseman Mike Moustakas went on the injured list after he woke up feeling sick, and CF Nick Senzel was a late scratch from Cincinnati’s lineup Sunday against Detroit. The moves came a day after INF Matt Davidson went on the injured list because he tested positive for COVID-19.

4 PRO HOCKEY: Arizona GM John Chayka was called a quitter by the team in a statement on Sunday after he stepped down a week before the Coyotes’ Stanley Cup qualifier series against Nashville. Former player/current assistant GM Steve Sullivan will serve as interim general manager. “The club is disappoint­ed in (Chayka’s) actions and his timing,” the team said in a statement.“Chayka has chosen to quit on a strong and competitiv­e team.”

5 MOTORCYCLE RACING: Fabio Quartararo won from pole position at the Andalucia Grand Prix in Spain for his second consecutiv­e win since the MotoGP season started.
