1 Navalny update: Russian doctors gave a dissident who is in a coma after a suspected poisoning permission to be transferre­d abroad for medical treatment, in a sudden reversal Friday that came after more than 24 hours of wrangling over Alexei Navalny’s condition and treatment. Navalny, 44, was admitted to an intensive care unit on Thursday.

2 Gas reserve found: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the discovery of a large natural gas reserve off the Black Sea coast that will help ease the country’s dependence on imports. Erdogan said the amount of gas discovered is 320 billion cubic meters, a sum analysts said was notable but not a “game-changer” that might turn the country into a regional energy hub or materially alter its financial fortunes.

3 Actor dies: Chi Chi DeVayne, the self-proclaimed Southern bayou princess who dazzled viewers of RuPaul’s drag show competitio­ns with impassione­d lip sync performanc­es and headover-heels dance routines, died Thursday. No cause was given, though DeVayne, 34, had ongoing health problems.

4 Hacking charge: Uber’s former security chief Joe Sullivan was charged in California with attempting to conceal from federal investigat­ors a hack that exposed the email addresses and phone numbers of 57 million drivers and passengers. The criminal charges are believed to be the first against an executive stemming from a company’s response to a security incident.

5 Show goeson: TonyAwards administra­tors have decided to hold an online ceremony this fall to honor shows that opened before the coronaviru­s pandemic shuttered Broadway. The American Theater Wing and the Broadway League announced the decision Friday morning.
