Macon Asian fusion restaurant fails health check

An Asian fusion restaurant in Macon failed a recent health inspection. Kinjo Kitchen & Cocktails on Second Street scored 67/U on Aug.

18. The restaurant received a previous score of 100/A on March 6.

According to the report, leafy greens such as chard, arugula and spinach were stored in to-go brown paper sacks in the coolers. Other violations:

■ There were missing ceiling tiles in the back kitchen area.

■ The facility had food items from places with a food service permits but not licensed for whole

sale from the Georgia Department of Agriculture.

■ There were two containers of strawberries stored in walk-in cooler with the presence of mold.

■ Rice stored on prep table with temperature of 52 degrees; cooked duck at a temperature of 46 degrees and raw salmon at a temperature of 43 degrees were stored in reach-in cooler.

■ Multiple chemical bottles were stored in various locations without labeling. ■ There was buildup of debris on the ice machine.

Most restaurants with failed scores are reinspected within 10

days.
