Three-13 earns honors in Small Business event
On Aug. 10, the Cobb Chamber named Three-13 Salon, Spa & Boutique the 2020 Small Business of the Year at its Small Business of the Year Awards event presented by LOUD Security Systems and S.A. White Oil Company.
Three-13 Salon, Spa & Boutique (three-13.com), 2663 Canton Road, Marietta, recently celebrated 46 years “as trailblazers in the beauty salon industry, providing a world-class, full-service experience,” according to a Cobb Chamber release.
Three-13 also hosts an annual “Angels of Life” event, which has raised awareness and $560,000 over the past nine years for the Georgia Transplant Foundation, an organization that is especially meaningful to managing partner Lester Crowell, who has received two successful heart transplants.
Crowell’s business partners are Marian Crowell and Joseph Tony Lacey.
As the Cobb Chamber’s 2020 Small Business of the Year, Three13 Salon, Spa & Boutique will compete in the state’s Small Business of the Year competition.
To be considered for the Top 25 Small Businesses of Year, each candidate submits an application to the Cobb Chamber.
Applicants must prove an increase in sales or unit volume, provide examples of innovation, discuss adversity and challenges and thoroughly detail their community involvement.
Then applications are analyzed and considered by a group of independent community business leaders and affiliates of the Small Business Administration. Five finalists are selected based on their numerical score, then visited on site by a panel of judges.
The 2019 Small Business of the Year, Otter’s Chicken, was inducted into the Small Business Hall of Fame, which includes all county and state winners of the award from Cobb since 1982.
