1 “Hotel Rwanda” hero arrested: Paul Rusesabagina, portrayed in the film “Hotel Rwanda” as a hero who saved the lives of more than 1,200 people from the country’s 1994 genocide, has been arrested by the Rwandan government on terror charges, police announced on Monday. A well-known critic of President Paul Kagame, Rusesabagina had been living outside Rwanda since 1996 and police did not say where he was apprehended.

American and Israeli delegation to Abu Dhabi in the first-ever
direct commercial passenger flight between the two countries. The Israeli flag carrier’s flight marked the implementation of the historic U.S.-brokered deal to normalize relations between the two nations.
4 Bannon’s trial set for May:
President Donald Trump’s former chief strategist Stephen Bannon will stand trial in the spring on federal charges he and three others defrauded donors to their crowdfunding campaign that sought money for construction of a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, the judge overseeing their case said Monday.
5 Arrests in Hong Kong: Police in Hong Kong used pepper spray and made several arrests as dozens of protesters gathered Monday at a subway station to mark the anniversary of a violent clash last year that stirred accusations of police brutality during antigovernment rallies. Some protesters came to Prince Edward subway station in Kowloon with white flowers, while others chanted pro-democracy slogans.
