Pac-12 reverses course, plans to play football beginning in November
The Pac-12 on Thursday announced a plan to begin playing football beginning Nov. 6. Like the Big Ten, the conference had decided in August to postpone games until spring because of the coronavirus pandemic but changed course after seeing other conferences play.
Athletes will be tested for the virus daily, officials said. That was key to getting approval from health officials in California and Oregon.
The league will play a reduced schedule that will culminate in a championship game Dec. 18, giving its teams a shot at the College Football Playoff and bowl games.
