-

The Patriots canceled practice Friday after a member of the organization tested positive for COVID- 19, a person familiar with the decision told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the team and the NFL did not announce the positive test. The person did not reveal if it involved a player or a coach.

New England already twice had the original Week 5 matchup against Denver postponed following four positive coronavirus tests by players. The game is scheduled for Sunday in Foxborough, Massachusetts, but now could be in jeopardy.

Earlier Friday, the Colts closed their practice facility after “several individuals” tested positive for COVID19, then the retests came back negative. The team said in a late- morning statement: “The four positive samples were retested and have been confirmed negative. After consultation with the NFL and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Allen Sills, the team will open the practice facility this afternoon under the league’s intensive protocol and will continue preparation for Sunday’s game against Cincinnati.”

■ The Browns, who played the Colts on Sunday, had zero positive tests Friday morning, and their building was open. The negatives included one for star WR Odell Beckham Jr., who was ill and sent home Thursday.

■ The Panthers placed guard/ center Tyler Larsen on the reserve/ COVID19 list, five days after he played against the Falcons. The Panthers still practiced Friday in preparation for Sunday’s game vs. the Bears.

■ The Arizona Department of Health Services is permitting the Cardinals to host a crowd of up to 1,200 for the next home game, vs. the Seahawks ( Oct. 25).

■ Maryland will allow up to 10% capacity at the two stadiums in the state that are home to NFL teams, Gov. Larry Hogan said, meaning several thousand fans could attend games. The Ravens’ next home game is Nov. 1 vs. the Steelers. Washington’s next home game is Oct. 25 vs. the Cowboys.
