Where Can I Findit?

Diet Cheer wine, ap owder puff and red cabbage in a jar,

- By Sabine Morrow

Q: I am looking for a metro-Atlanta outlet for diet Cheerwine in cans or large bottles. To get it now, I have to drive to either Cornelia or Clarkesville, which are both a good ways outside of Atlanta. Thank you. — Larry Cauble, Norcross

A: Larry, most of my sources are currently out of diet Cheerwine in those sizes and can’t get them at this time. However, I found a few 12-ounce bottles for $2.49 each at Rocket Fizz, 128 S. Park Square SE, Marietta, 678-426-7520. The store stocks diet Cheerwine as part of its inventory, but it’s low at the moment. You’ll also find 12-ounce bottles of the diet cherry-flavored soda for $1.49 at Cost Plus World Market, 4733 Ashford Dunwoody Road, Dunwoody, 678- 731-0014.

Q: I enjoy your column so much. My request is for a powder puff without buying a boxed body powder that includes the puff. We use Gold Bond in the shaker can, but we would love to have a powder puff. Any suggestions will be appreciated. — Mary H. Moore, Decatur

A: Thank you for reading, Mary. I have some options for you. I make scented dusting powder, so I had to look for powder puffs too a while back. I bought a set of three Joly white powder puffs with satin ribbon straps for $7.98 through Amazon. The puffs measure just over 4 inches in diameter. They’re ideal for loose powder. If you want a fancier puff, check out Bella il Fiore shimmer puff. This fluffy powder puff comes with a handle for those hardto-reach places. You can find Bella il Fiore, which measures about 3-and-½ inches around, at Tuxedo Pharmacy and Gifts, 164 W. Wieuca Road, Atlanta, 404-255-3022. It comes in a gift box and costs $17.99. You might also consider Walmart.com, and look for EZ Comfort, 4-inch velour powder puffs. A pack of three sells for $8.77, and shipping is free.

Q: Love your column every week. I am looking for red cabbage in a jar; it’s usually on a shelf with sauerkraut. I have tried all the usual supermarkets to no avail. I would love it if you were successful. Thanks in advance. — Elard Scharffenberg, Marietta

A: Thank you for reading, Elard. Bernhard’s German Bakery & Deli, 1592 Atlanta Road SE, Marietta, 770-218-1153, stocks Kuhne Apfel-Rotkohl red cabbage in vinegar, sugar and bits of apple. A 680-gram jar sells for $4.25.

The same brand costs $3.99 at Buford Highway Farmers Market, 5600 Buford Highway, Doraville, 770-455-0770. It’s located on aisle 19. Buford Highway Farmers Market also stocks other pickled red cabbage brands in jars. One is Znojmia, a Czech product that sells for $2.99, and the other is Belveder red cabbage salad, $2.99. You’ll find both of these on aisle 18.
