1 Erdogan visit prompts EU rebuke:

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited Turkish-controlled northern Cyprus to celebrate the breakaway enclave’s anniversar­y as he pushes for a permanent two- state solution on the island, prompting a rebuke from the European Union. Erdogan joined Ersin Tatar, the newly elected Turkish-Cypriot president, for what was described as a “picnic” at Varosha.

2 Azerbaijan delays 2 takeover, denounces fleeing Armenians:

Azerbaijan on Sunday postponed taking control of a territory ceded by Armenian forces in a cease- fifire agreement, but denounced civilians leaving the area for burning houses and committing what it called“ecological terror.” The cease- fifire ended six weeks of intense fighting between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

3 Arrest made after actor punched:

A New York man has been arrested in connection with an unprovoked assault against “Ghostbuste­rs” star Rick Moranis that occurred as the 67- year- old actor was walking near Central Park in October. Police said Marquis Ventura, whom authoritie­s listed as homeless, was arrested Saturday. Moranis was knocked to the ground by a sucker punch Oct. 1.

4 Rebels confirm firing rockets into Eritrea:

The Tigray People’s Liberation Front ( TPLF) fifired rockets into Eritrea late Saturday, its leader confifirme­d to dpa on Sunday, a major escalation of the rebel group’s conflict with the Ethiopian government.
