POWER RANKINGS

1. Alabama ( 6- 0): Alabama really wanted to play LSU last weekend. It may be ready to take that frustration out on Kentucky, although the Wildcats are probably a tougher opponent than LSU would have been.

2. Texas A& M ( 5- 1): Yes, the Aggies swapped positions with Florida this week, That's not because Florida didn't look great in routing Arkansas. It's just a recommitment to respecting the head- to- head.

3. Florida ( 5- 1): Kyle Trask really helped himself in the Heisman Trophy race. How many votes will come down to Mac versus Kyle in Atlanta? And how long before someone challenges the results because the game

was in Georgia?

4. Georgia ( 4- 2): Again, respecting the head- to- head to rank the Bulldogs over Auburn, but I'm not sure AU wouldn't win the rematch.

5. Auburn ( 4- 2): Surely Auburn won't lose at home to a Jeremy Pruitt team for a second time. ( See 2018).

6. Ole Miss ( 3- 4): The Rebels are rocketing up the SEC Power Rankings like Lane Kiffin's clipboard launching into outer space.

7. Kentucky ( 3- 4): After a season- long quarterback shuffle, Terry Wilson did a nice job for UK against Vanderbilt. Alabama will be a slightly different challenge.

8. Missouri ( 2- 3): To be frank, it's hard to see Missouri getting in a full 10- game season at this point.

9. Arkansas ( 3- 4): The Razorbacks were blown out in Gainesville but still seem to give a rip, which isn't true for some of the other teams in the rankings.

10. LSU ( 2- 3): Opened as a two- point underdog to Arkansas, which screams how different 2020 is from 2019.

11. Tennessee ( 2- 4): Vols seem to be playing out the orange string. I don't even have a helpful suggestion for the UT quarterback situation.

12. Mississippi State ( 2- 4): Another team where both kinds of numbers ( available players and points scored) are a bad combination.

13. South Carolina ( 2- 5): Ask not for whom the Gamecock crows, Will Muschamp. He crows for thee.

14. Vanderbilt ( 0- 6): Every week I laud the Commodores' effort. Every week there are too many mistakes to overcome.
