Downtown meeting, awards tribute set

Central Atlanta Progress and the Atlanta Downtown Improvement District are hosting their annual meeting and awards tribute. The event set for 8 to 9 a. m. Jan. 27 will be online.

Working side by side, CAP and ADID are committed to creating a thriving Downtown Atlanta community for all of its property owners, employees, residents, students and visitors.

Central Atlanta Progress, Inc., is a downtown business association with approximately 240 members. Its mission is to champion a vibrant community with strong l eadership and sustainable infrastructure that i s safe, l ivable, diverse, economically viable, accessible, clean, hospitable and entertaining. The Atlanta Downtown Improvement District is a 501( c)( 3) nonprofifit, charitable corporation created by CAP to make Downtown safer, cleaner and more hospitable.

Organizers tout the event as a lively and entertaining hour- long special hosted by CAP/ ADID that will cover the news and events that are shaping downtown.

Attendees are encouraged to grab a cup of coffffffffffffee and join host A. J. Robinson, CAP/ ADID President, for an hourlong morning news show featuring guest appearances from a few of the city’s best and brightest.

Offifficials will reflflect on 2020, celebrate the people and institutions impacting the community, and explore trends to anticipate in the year ahead.

The event also includes awards for leaders and institutions that have had an indelible impact on Downtown Atlanta with the foll owing: the Dan & Tally Sweat Award, the Warnermedia Community Leadership Award, the Marcus Downtown Economic Impact Award, ADID Ambassador of the Year, ADID Clean Team Member of the Year, and Atlanta Police Department Zone 5 Offifficer of the Year.
