Freedom at big risk in today’s ‘1984’-like America

-

In my 65 years, I have always voted for the person and their policies and not the party. I am appalled at news in both the AJC and mainstream TV. It is truly an analogy of George Orwell’s “1984.” Big Brother is monitoring all of us with cameras and on the Internet. The thought police are in the form of Facebook, Twitter and Google. I choose not to participate in social media because I am private. My objective is to truly remain an individual with freedom within the United States and to respect all the constitutional rights that have been given to us through our founders. I find it appalling the counterculture is tearing down all of this with removal of our heroes, such as Abraham Lincoln. I think it’s so important to preserve history, no matter its controversy. All Americans need to seriously think about freedom and what it entails. If they go after certain groups, they will go for you next!
