Rain predicted to give way to sun today, nice weekend
Stephen Mayo was caught off guard by Thursday’s rain in Midtown Atlanta as he used a plastic bag for coverage heading down Peachtree Street near 11th Street. The sunshine is expected to return today after another round of rain, Channel 2 meteorologist Brian Monahan said. There is a 60% chance of showers to end the week, and Monahan said they will be concentrated on the Southside. The sun should come out late this afternoon, he said. Today’s high will be in the mid-50s, with a low tonight in the low 30s, according to the National Weather Service. “By Saturday, we’re looking at about seven hours of sunshine and a nice start to the weekend,” Monahan said.
