1 CMA Fest canceled: Country music festival CMA Fest in Nashville, Tennessee, will be canceled for a second year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Country Music Associatio­n announced Tuesday the decision to cancel the June event. People who purchased passes for last year and held onto them to use for this year’s festival can either retain them for 2022 or opt for a refund at Cmafest.com.

2 Mcenany to join Fox: Fox News said Tuesday it had signed former White House press secretary Kayleigh Mcenany as a contributo­r to offer commentary on various network programs. Mcenany was former President Donald Trump’s final press secretary. Mcenany had disclosed to the U.S. Office of Government Ethics while still in office that she would work for Fox after leaving the White House.

3 Firing squad proposed: South Carolina senators Tuesday added a firing squad to the electric chair as alternativ­es if the state can’t execute condemned inmates by way of lethal injection. The bill would allow South Carolina to restart executions after nearly 10 years. The state’s supply of lethal injection drugs expired and it has not been able to buy any more.

4 No charges for Klan flag: A prosecutor declined to file charges Tuesday against a suburban Detroit man who displayed a Ku Klux Klan flag in his window next to the home of a Black family, saying the “horrible conduct” doesn’t violate Michigan law. An ethnic intimidati­on charge would require physical contact, property damage or threats of such activity, said Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy.

5 Reggae star dies: Bunny Wailer, a reggae luminary who was the last surviving founding member of the legendary group The Wailers, died Tuesday in his native Jamaica. He was 73. He formed The Wailers in 1963 with late superstars Bob Marley and Peter Tosh.
