Longtime Cobb restaurant fails health check

A Cobb restaurant that has served the community for 30 years failed a recent he alth inspection. Dolly’s Farmhouse in Austell scored 61/U on March

8. There were no previous scores listed on the report.

According to the report, an employee cleaned the prep table, then put on new gloves and handled eggs at the grill area without first washing his hands. Other violations:

■ There was an open bag of okra in the walk-in freezer.

■ Dirty dishes were stored for use (plates, container lids and coffee mugs).

■ Cold foods were stored at temperatures above 41 degrees.

■ Multiple containers of milk stored for use in the walk-in cooler had expired date labels of Feb. 26.

■ Catfish was improperly thawing on the counter in a container of water. Similarly chicken in a container and pork in a container were on the counter thawing.

■ An employee with a beard longer than 1 inch was handling food without a beard net.

■ Clean cups were stacked wet.

■ The small reach-in-cooler at the grill prep area was not working with ambient temps above 41 degrees.

■ The hot water temperature at three hand sinks was below requirements.

■ The facility didn’t have a test kit to measure sanitizing solutions.

Most restaurants with failed scores are reinspected within 10 days.
