What’s not working around metro Atlanta

-

Update: Atlanta (Fulton)

This week, we’re trying to get more information on items that officials did not fix last year.

In August, we told you about Sylvia Baird’s issue with o ne of the busiest stretches of highway in the region, I-285.

“When I am passing the airport on I-285 West, and the road climbs upward, it is dangerous. The striping is so faded you can no longer see it. When it rains, it creates a hazard even more. Hope you will do something about it,” she wrote.

We sent the issue back to the Department of Trans- portation to see if there is an update.

Another issue that still needs fixing is a pothole in the city.

In September, Clay Edwards told us about a problematic pothole.

“About 100 feet east of the intersection of Wyngate and West Wesley Road, on West Wesley Road, in the Buckhead area is a sunken manhole that cars run across every day. It jars the houses nearby and makes a tremendous explosive noise, especially when a truck runs across it. It has existed for years. Can you please raise that manhole so that it is flush with the asphalt?” Edwards asked.

We sent the issue back to the city and will let you know when it is fixed.

Who’s looking into it: City of Atlanta Department of Public Works Commissioner James Jackson, 404330-6240, jamesjackson@atlantaga.gov.
