The Nashville Metro Council approved the record civil settlement Tuesday without discussion in the fatal shooting of Daniel Hambrick, 25, by Offifficer Andrew Delke, news outlets reported.

Wildfifire­s that charred millions of acres in the West wiped out the country’s pandemic- related clean air gains in 2020, according to a report released this week. Overall, the U. S. average for the deadliest type of air pollution rose nearly 7% over 2019 because of smoke from fall fifires, according to Iqair’s annual World Air Quality Report.

4 Recall petition deadline:

Opponents of California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Wednesday were to submit the fifinal batch of signatures from voters seeking the governor’s recall from offiffice. Recall backers have already collected more than 2 million petition signatures, of which about 1.5 million must be valid for the measure to qualify for a ballot.

5 Wisconsin workplace shooting:

A worker shot and killed two colleagues at a supermarke­t distributi­on center near Milwaukee before crashing his vehicle during a police pursuit and then killing himself, a union offifficia­l and police said. The attack happened Tuesday night at the Roundy’s distributi­on center in Oconomowoc, which employs close to 1,000 people, according to the Journal Sentinel.
