PALS sets its spring class schedule

PALS (Perimeter Adult Learning Services) has announced its next lineup of classes for the Spring 2021 session, according to a press release.

The classes are running for eight weeks on Mondays and Wednesdays beginning April 5 and running through May 26. The classes will again be virtual using the Zoom platform.

The lineup of classes is as follows:

Mondays from April 5-May 22

■ 10-11 a.m. Inside the GBI— Agents of the Georgia Bureau of Investigat­ion will discuss the agency’s various operations, including how they investigat­e major thefts, police officer involved shootings, child traffickin­g, elder abuse and the use of the crime lab among others.

■ 11:15 a.m.–12:15 p.m.—stories From the Bible, New Testament and Qur’an: Kemal Budak will present how the stories of Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, Job and Mary, among others, are portrayed both similarly and differentl­y in the holy scriptures of the three Abrahamic faiths.

Wednesdays from April 7–May 24

■ 10-11:00 a.m.—georgians in Entertainm­ent: Tom Dell will highlight the numerous wellknown (and maybe not so wellknown) entertaine­rs who were either born in Georgia or spent significan­t time here, Including Oliver Hardy, Ray Charles, Joe South, Billy Joe Royal and Fiddlin’ John Carson.

■ 11:15 a.m.–12:15 p.m.—winston Churchill, From Birth to Death and Beyond: Bill Fisher, a founding member of the Winston Churchill Society of Georgia, will discuss the life of Winston Churchill from his birth in 1874 to his death in 1964 and his legacy.
