1 AUTO RACING: Martin Truex Jr. entered Monday’s NASCAR Truck Series race for the first time in 15 years just to get extra laps on the dirt surface at Bristol Motor Speedway ahead of the Cup Series race later in the day. That reconnaiss­ance mission turned into a runaway win for Truex, who led 105 of 150 laps, won all three stages and beat series regulars Ben Rhodes, Raphael Lessard and Todd Gilliland for the win.

2 WOMEN’S PRO GOLF: Inbee Park opened her LPGA Tour season in Carlsbad, Calif., with a wireto-wire victory late Sunday in the Kia Classic on the eve of the first major championsh­ip of the season. The Hall of Famer finally put it all together at Aviara Golf Club, winning her 21st LPGA Tour title after finishing second on the course in 2010, 2016 and 2019. She tied LPGA Founder Marilynn Smith for 25th place on the alltime victory list. Park closed with a 2-under 70 for a five-stroke victory over Lexi Thompson and Amy Olson.

3 PRO BASKETBALL: Andre Drummond signed with the Lakers. The two-time All-star center agreed to a buyout Friday from the Cavaliers, who acquired the four-time NBA rebounding champion last year after nearly eight seasons in Detroit.

4 COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Florida forward Colin Castleton entered his name in the NBA draft but said he will not hire an agent and will retain his college eligibilit­y. The junior averaged 12.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.2 blocks a game. His average swats rank as the fifth-best single-season mark in school history.

5 COLLEGE WRESTLING: Iowa’s Spencer Lee and Minnesota’s Gable Steveson won the Dan Hodge Trophy as the most dominant college wrestlers in 2020-21. The announceme­nt Monday marked the first time in the award’s 20-year history that two wrestlers shared the honor.
