4 Flights suspended: France’s prime minister has announced the suspension of all flights between Brazil and France amid concerns over coronavirus variants. Prime Minister Jean Castex made the announcement Tuesday in parliament. He said: “we note that the situation is getting worse and so we have decided to suspend all flights between Brazil and France until further notice.”
5 Troop announcement today: President Joe Biden will withdraw all American troops from Afghanistan over the coming months, people familiar with the plans said, completing the military exit by the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks that first drew the United States into its longest war. Biden is expected to make the announcement today, according to one person familiar with the matter, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
