1 AUTO RACING: The Indycar championsh­ip flipped leaders Saturday night when Alex Palou was collected in an early three-car accident that moved Pato O’ward to the point after a runner-up finish to Josef Newgarden at World Wide Technology Raceway in Madison, Illinois. Newgarden won for the second time this season — third time of his career at Gateway — and beat O’ward by 0.5397 seconds. Will Power was third and Scott Mclaughlin fourth to put three Team Penske drivers in the top four.

2 PRO SOCCER: The Hudson River Derby game between the New York Red Bulls and New York City FC was postponed Saturday night because of soggy field conditions. Heavy rain from Tropical Storm Henri delayed the game more than two hours before it was called off. The game has not been reschedule­d.

PRO BASEBALL: The Tampa Bay 3

Rays placed designated hitter Nelson Cruz on the COVID-19 injured list. The move was announced Sunday before the Rays hosted the White Sox in a matchup of AL division leaders. It was not clear if Cruz tested positive or was deemed a close contact of someone who did.

PRO GOLF: Johannes Veerman

4 closed with a 4-under 68 to win the Czech Masters on Sunday for his maiden European Tour title. The American finished two strokes ahead of Tapio Pulkkanen of Finland and another American, Sean Crocker, for a 15-under total of 273 at Albatross Golf Resort near Prague.

PRO GOLF: Rod Pampling won the 5

Boeing Classic on Sunday for his first PGA Tour Champions victory when Jim Furyk and Woody Austin failed to get up-and-down for birdie from greenside bunkers on the par-5 18th. Pampling, playing five groups ahead of Furyk and Austin at Snoqualmie Ridge in Washington, shot a 6-under 66 to finish at 12-under 204.
