PRO BASKETBALL: The NBA will not require its players to be vaccinated against the coronavirus this season, a person familiar with the situation confirmed. The league’s players union is opposing a vaccine mandate, the person confirmed. Approximately 85% of NBA players are already vaccinated, a spokesman for the league reportedly stated Tuesday.

PRO FOOTBALL: Andy Reid is just one win away from becoming the first coach to reach 100 with two different franchises. After winning 140 games with the Eagles, he is now at 99 with the Chiefs after beating the Browns on Sunday in a rematch of their divisional-round playoff game. Reid also has 222 wins in the regular season, and five more would send him past Curly Lambeau for fifth-most in NFL history.

U.S. SOCCER: Alex Morgan says the U.S. women’s national team needs to make sure players aren’t losing any of their existing compensation under the identical contract proposals the U.S. Soccer Federation has made to both the men’s and women’s teams. U.S. Soccer said Tuesday it offered identical contracts to the players’ associations for the men’s and women’s national teams. But the governing body also said it would refuse to agree to a deal in which World Cup prize money is not equalized

PRO HOCKEY: Tyler Bozak resigned with the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday, inking a one-year deal worth the veteran minimum of $750,000. Bozak, now 35, was with the Blues in 2019 when they won the Stanley Cup for the first time in franchise history. He put up 13 points during that championship run.

PRO BASKETBALL: The Minnesota Timberwolves have filled out their roster by re-signing forward Jarred Vanderbilt and guard Jordan Mclaughlin, both of whom were restricted free agents.
