1 COLLEGE: The American Athletic Conference has extended the contract of Commission­er Mike Aresco for three years through June 2025, the league announced Monday. Aresco, a former CBS Sports executive, was hired as Big East commission­er in 2012 during sweeping conference realignmen­t that ultimately forced the league to rebuild and rebrand. The American was formed in 2013.

2 HOCKEY: The Arizona Coyotes are bringing back their popular Kachina logo. The franchise announced a rebranding Monday that will change its primary logo back to the Kachina logo and introduce white Kachina jerseys for away games.

SOCCER: Hungary was ordered 3 by FIFA on Tuesday to play its next World Cup qualifier without spectators as punishment for the latest racial abuse by its supporters when England played in Budapest. The Hungarian federation also was fined $217,000, one of the largest financial penalties handed out to a country by the world governing body.

HANDBALL: Russia suspended

4 eight players from its men’s national junior handball team Tuesday for behavior likened to “treason”after alleging they had been in contact with bookmakers. The Russian Handball Federation didn’t specify what the players were accused of doing and didn’t identify any specific games that may have been affected. However, the board said it would meet to discuss“the fight against unsporting influence on results.”

OBITUARY: Jo Lasorda, widow

5 of former Dodgers manager Tommy Lasorda, died at age 91. No cause of death was given. The former Joan Miller met Lasorda at a minor league baseball game in Greenville, S.C., where he was playing for the Spinners. They married April 14, 1950. Tommy Lasorda died in January at age 93.
