Multiple witnesses saw a woman fall to her death from a moving car Monday night in Buckhead, according to 911 calls released Wednesday.

Atlanta police have not determined whether Catherine Khan, 28, was pushed out of the vehicle and have not publicly identified its driver. But one witness told 911 dispatchers he saw the woman get into an argument before she was thrown through the car’s roof and fell to the pavement at the intersection of Piedmont and Peachtree roads.

Witnesses described the vehicle as a white or gray Lamborghini with a distinctive vanity plate.

“There was a gray Lamborghini that was driving,” a male caller said in the newly released audiotapes. “There was a fight, there was an altercation. The Lamborghini took off, and she was thrown out from the car, off the top of the roof. They pushed her out.”

In another 911 call, a woman sounded frantic when she reported “someone just got hit by a car.” There is commotion and yelling in the background. “It’s really bad right now,” she told dispatchers.

Both callers said the woman was breathing but unconscious a few minutes after the incident. One caller was given instructions on how to perform CPR until help arrived about 11 p.m., and Khan was rushed to a hospital. She later died of her injuries.

A memorial was growing Wednesday morning at the bustling Buckhead intersection, where mourners left flowers on the sidewalk as cars and people rushed past. On a Facebook page dedicated to her memory, friends described Khan as having positive energy, a generous soul and a lively spirit.

“You encompassed happiness and living life to the fullest and you fought like hell to get out of situations that were thrown your way and I’ve always been so proud of you for that. To watch you evolve into this gorgeous, selfless, loving woman is just so joyous and I’ve been so proud of you with every step you’ve taken. I can’t imagine doing life without you,” a friend wrote on the page.

Other friends noted Khan ensured every moment was spent making cherished memories with friends and family.

“Catherine may have had her life cut short, but the living she did while she was with us was more fun, happy, wild times than most people will experience in a full lifetime,” another friend wrote.

A Gofundme campaign created by friends to help the family with funeral expenses raised more than $1,000 within the first few hours.

As of Wednesday morning, Khan’s death remained under investigation and had not been classified either as a homicide or an accident.
