New York’s attorney general is seeking former President Donald Trump’s testimony in an ongoing civil investigat­ion into his business practices, a person familiar with the matter said. Attorney General Letitia James’ office has requested that Trump sit for a deposition Jan. 7, according to the person, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the ongoing investigat­ion.

Household net worth posts small 2 gain: Growth in U.S. household net worth cooled in the third quarter as wealth created by rising home values was eroded by a temporary pullback in the stock market. Household net worth increased by almost $2.4 trillion, or 1.7%, after a $6.14 trillion jump in the second quarter, a Federal Reserve report showed Thursday. While the quarterly advance was the smallest of the pandemic recovery, net worth still climbed to a fresh record of nearly $145 trillion.

DEA agent gets 12 years: A

union: Starbucks workers at a store in Buffalo, New York, voted to unionize on Thursday, a first for the 50-year-old coffee retailer in the U.S. and the latest sign that the labor movement is stirring after decades of decline. The National Labor Relations Board said Thursday that workers voted 19-8 in favor of a union at the Elmwood Avenue location, one of three stores in Buffalo where elections were being held.
