1 PRO FOOTBALL: Former NFL player Josh Bellamy has been sentenced to three years and one month in federal prison for fraudulent­ly obtaining over $1.2 million in COVID-19 relief funds. Bellamy most recently played for the New York Jets, who released him from the reserve/physically unable to play list in September 2020, just days before his arrest. Bellamy, 32, of St. Petersburg, Florida, pleaded guilty in June to conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Bellamy must also pay restitutio­n.

TENNIS: U.S. Open champion

Emma Raducanu tested positive for COVID-19 and pulled out of an exhibition match in the United Arab Emirates on Monday. Organizers of the Mubadala World Tennis Championsh­ip announced Raducanu’s withdrawal, saying the British teenager is isolating and following protocols. Raducanu won the U.S. Open in September to become the first qualifier to claim a Grand Slam singles title.

Premier League reported its highest weekly coronaviru­s infections while in talks with Manchester United about postponing today’s match at Brentford after the club closed its training facility due to an outbreak. There were 42 cases of COVID-19 in the week to Sunday.

PRO BASKETBALL: The NBA

4 postponed the Chicago Bulls’ next two games on Monday, with 10 of the team’s players in the league’s health and safety protocols. The Bulls were scheduled to host the Detroit Pistons today and visit the Toronto Raptors on Thursday. No makeup dates were announced.

OLYMPICS: South Korea broke

5 from its U.S. ally and won’t be joining the diplomatic boycott of the Beijing Winter Olympics, citing a need for China’s help in denucleari­zation on the Korean Peninsula. South Korean President Moon Jae-in said Monday that his government was “not considerin­g” the boycott.
