1 PRO SOCCER: Barcelona striker Sergio Aguero announced his immediate retirement on Wednesday for health reasons. Aguero, 33, underwent heart tests after leaving the field, holding his chest, during Barcelona’s match against Alaves in the Spanish league on Oct. 30. Aguero is one of the world’s most wellknown players, having only joined Barcelona in the offseason after ending a 10-year stint at Manchester City.

2 PRO FOOTBALL: Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh said Lamar Jackson would not practice Wednesday, although the star quarterbac­k remains a possibilit­y to play this weekend. Harbaugh said Jackson is day to day. The Ravens also were preparing for the arrival of another quarterbac­k, Josh Johnson, who is heading to Baltimore from the New York Jets’ practice squad.

3 GAMBLING: Sports betting in Ohio will cover major collegiate sports — including Ohio State football — the head of the state agency tapped to regulate the new industry said Wednesday. The General Assembly did not exempt collegiate athletics from sports wagering, and neither will the Ohio Casino Control Commission, said executive director Matt Schuler.

4 COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Cleveland State has canceled men’s basketball games at No. 2 Duke on Saturday and at Kent State on Tuesday after pausing team activities due to COVID-19 protocols and positive cases within the program. The school announced the cancellati­ons Wednesday. Duke said it is pursuing a replacemen­t game.

5 PRO BASKETBALL: Danny Ainge, who helped the Boston Celtics win two NBA titles as a player and another as a team executive, is the new CEO of the Utah Jazz. Ainge stepped into his new role Wednesday. He was also named an alternate governor for the Jazz on the NBA’S Board of Governors.
