1 PRO BASEBALL: The Mets placed RHP Tylor Megill on the 15-day injured list with right biceps tendinitis, four days after he allowed eight runs over 11/3 innings during a loss at Washington. The Mets said the pitcher would have an MRI. Megill is 4-2 with a 4.41 ERA in seven starts, striking out 37 and walking nine in 342/3 innings. He has been part of a rotation that includes Max Scherzer, Chris Bassitt, Taijuan Walker and Carlos Carrasco.

PRO BASEBALL: Seattle Mariners 2 manager Scott Servais said “a couple players” won’t make the trip for the three-game series that starts today at Toronto because of the Canadian government’s vaccine mandate. Servais did not identify which players will be unavailabl­e. Canada requires anyone entering the country to have received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, the second at least 14 days before entry.

Lee made her only three birdies on the back nine and captured the Cognizant Founders Cup by two shots over Lexi Thompson on Sunday for her first LPGA win of the year. The Australian closed with a 2-under 70, her only round not in the 60s, for a 72-hole total of 19-under 269 in Clifton, N.J.

PRO MEN’S GOLF: England’s

Sam Horsfield claimed his third European tour title, shooting 3-under 68 to finish at 13-under 271 and win the Soudal Open by two strokes in Antwerp, Belgium. His other wins came in a two-week span in 2020. Overnight leader Ryan Fox (71) and Yannik Paul (69) tied for second.

Football League and CFL Players’ Associatio­n broke off negotiatio­ns on a collective bargaining agreement. Training camps were scheduled to open Sunday, but the union directed players from seven of the CFL’S nine teams to participat­e in a work stoppage beginning Sunday.
