1 3 missing, swept away:

A child and two adults were missing Tuesday after they were swept away in a drainage ditch in Milwaukee a day earlier following severe thunderstorms that brought heavy rains and damaging winds to a wide swath of the Midwest and parts of the South, authorities said. Crews resumed their search Tuesday morning for an 11-year-old boy, as well as two men, ages 34 and 37, who entered the water in an attempt to rescue the child Monday evening.

2 U.S. beef and pork price relief probably won’t last:

Producer prices of beef and pork fell in May, but the reprieve isn’t expected to last long. Prices paid to beef and veal producers fell 9.5% last month from April levels and about 14% year on year, with pork prices posting their own decline, Labor Department data showed Tuesday. About 1.9 million new cancer cases are expected to be diagnosed in the United States in 2022, according to the American Cancer Society. The decline in the death rate is attributed in large part to fewer people smoking.

Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase announced it would cut 18% of its workforce Tuesday as fears of a recession mount and crypto values plummet, shedding sometimes thousands of dollars per share by the day.

5 Ford recalls 48,924 Mustang Mach-es:

Ford has told dealers to temporarily halt deliveries of the Mustang Mach-e over a potential safety defect, a setback for the carmaker as it tries to fortify its position as a leader in electric vehicles. The automaker is recalling 48,924 Mach-es from the 2021 and 2022 model years made at Ford’s plant in Cuautitlan, Mexico. The issue involves the possible overheating of highvoltage battery main contactors.
