1 PRO FOOTBALL: The Carolina Panthers are raising overall ticket prices by slightly more than 4% in 2024 following a season in which they finished with an NFL-worst 2-15. The lower-level seating at Bank of America Stadium will see the most significant impact, with season ticket prices increasing by an average of 7% from last year for permanent seat license owners. The team did not release the new actual cost of a season ticket by section, except to say the most affordable season ticket package remains $510.

PRO MEN’S TENNIS: Daniil 2 Medvedev opened his title defense at the Dubai Championships by beating Alexander Shevchenko 6-3, 7-5 in his first match since losing the Australian Open final to Jannik Sinner. Top-seeded Medvedev had withdrawn from tournaments in Doha and Rotterdam because of fatigue and a right foot problem following his loss to Sinner. Trailing 5-3 in the second set, Medvedev won four straight games to clinch the win and move on to face either Lorenzo Sonego or Sumit Nagal. Among other first-round matches, Karen Khachanov beat Luca Van Assche 6-2, 6-3; Ugo Humbert outlasted Gael Monfils 4-6, 6-3, 6-3; and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina defeated Fabian Marozsan 6-3, 4-6, 6-1.

3 MEN’S SOCCER: Lionel Messi’s Argentina will play Costa Rica rather than Nigeria in an exhibition on March 26 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, the latest change for a match that has switched location and opponent. The World Cup champion originally was to face Nigeria and Ivory Coast during a tour of China from March 18-26. That tour was canceled after Lionel Messi didn’t play at Inter Miami’s preseason game in Hong Kong. Argentina last week announced matches against El Salvador on March 22 at Philadelphia and Nigeria in Los Angeles.

4 PRO FOOTBALL: Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson will resume throwing next month following right shoulder surgery that cut short his second season with Cleveland after just six starts, GM Andrew Berry said.
