St. Vincent De Paul Homeless Center, 316 Baker St., will hold its annual Fall BBQ on Oct. 1. The barbecue will be a drive-thru event this year due to COVID-19 restrictions. The menu will be a traditional barbecue with Angus beef New York steak or teriyaki chicken, Wool Growers salad, Pyrenees French Bakery rolls, beans and Smith’s Bakery cobbler, Drive-thru service will be offered from 5-7 p.m. Tickets are $30, available at the St. Vincent Center, St. Vincent Thrift Store, online at svdpbakersfield.org or from a committee member. Reservations are requested due to the type of event. Proceeds from the fundraiser support the center in assisting the homeless and less fortunate in our community.
