NANCY ALTHEA LOPES

December 4, 1963 - December 12, 2020

Nancy Althea lopes was born in Clinton, Iowa to Parents Ken and Carol Norman December 4th, 1963. On December 12th 2020, she passed suddenly due to health issues at Bakersfield memorial hospital while accompanied by her 2 eldest children.

Nancy worked as a legal assistant most of her adult life, and did a little bit of schooling here and there for certifications for her profession. She was extremely creative, a trait she got from her mother, and enjoyed doing crafts and school projects with her children. She had a great sense of humor and was extremely quick witted, a great trait from her father, while joking back and forth with family and friends. She lived for her family, who also shared her creative and loving nature. She loved people and would help anyone in need. She saw the good in everybody. She would make sure her family's needs were taken care of before her own. She also played piano and indulged in art. Her favorite pastime, besides spending time with her children and grandchildren, was reading. She had quite the collection of books and would often lose herself in a story. She loved reading to her children when they were young and in turn, her grandchildren. Any time she was with her family she would light up, especially with her grandbabies.

Nancy married in 1989 to Jesus Rodriguez until his passing in 1997 and remarried in 2002 to Cuca Lopes until their divorce in 2008. She is survive by her 4 siblings, Shirly Booth, Randy Norman (Sherrie), Ken Norman, Bob Norman (Christy), Her 3 Children Joshua Norman (Linda), Anthony Rodriguez, and Ashley Lopes, Her 4 Grandchildren Joseph, Fallon, Melanie, And Annabell. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ken and Carol Norman and husband Jesus Rodriguez.

As per Nancy's wishes, her remains were cremated. In lieu of a funerary service, there will be a celebration of life for family and friends at a later date yet to be announced.
