TOM WILLIAMS
February 14,1936 - November 22, 2020
Tom was born on February 14, 1936 in Mesquite, New Mexico to Abe and Cleo Maude Williams. He grew up in New Mexico and Oregon with his sister Billie, brother Jerry, and many friends and family members. He served in the Armed Forces during the late days of the Korean War, returning to Oregon where he graduated from the University of Oregon.
Tom built a very successful career in insurance investigation with Brown Brothers Insurance Company, ultimately managing the Bakersfield office as Vice President. He eventually left the corporate world to open a private investigation firm, which he found very rewarding. It was in Bakersfield that Tom honed his golf skills, earning a two handicap, and serving as President of Stockdale Country Club.
In retirement, Tom moved to Pismo Beach where he enjoyed cheering on his beloved Oregon Ducks, beach walks with his rescue dog Bronco, exploring the coast and of course, golf. He took courses at Cal Poly, discovering a talent for charcoal sketches and fulfilling his life-long interest in history.
Tom traveled extensively throughout the Southwest, requiring nothing more than a full tank of gas and time to explore the small towns and hiking trails of Arizona and New Mexico. He loved long car trips, touring with his longtime companion Maureen across the country and up to Oregon to watch Ducks football.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, his son Pete, and his second wife Faye. He is survived by his daughter Tracy, son-in-law Doug and grandsons Jack and David; former wife Nancy; his close-as-a-son Todd, Todd's wife Renee and children Samantha and Zach; close companion Maureen; lifelong friend Denny and his wife Josie; and many friends.
We all miss him very much, but know how happy he was to see his beloved Dodgers win the World Series, the Lakers NBA Championship win, and the return of grace and integrity to the Presidency with the election of Joe Biden.
