Christi Stanford Bowman

October 19, 1961 - February 19, 2021

A memorial service will be held at Riverlakes Community Church in Bakersfield, Saturday March 6, 2021 at 10am.

Christi was the beloved wife of Paul Bowman and mother of Alexandra and Reid. She is survived by her father Glenn, mother Donna, brother Robin, and sisters Raquel, Melody and Nicki. Christi was born in Chicago, but lived most of her life in McFarland and Bakersfield. She graduated from McFarland High School in 1980 and then attended University of La Verne, graduating in 1984. She spent the next two years working in Brethren Volunteer Service in Baltimore, MD and Elgin, IL. The next year she spent working as a Resident Director at Manchester College in Indiana and then headed west for a teaching position at McFarland High School. In 1991 she married the love of her life Paul Bowman and continued teaching. She was a teacher and counselor off and on for a total of 32 years. She was an active member in the Church of the Living Savior, playing the piano, organ, leading worship and serving numerous times on the church board. Christi was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, church member, musician and friend. Her positive attitude, generous personality and giving spirit blessed all who knew her. Christi was a strong woman of prayer who leaned on her faith in Christ. She was always there for anyone who needed a caring listener. She will always be loved and will be dearly missed.
