Kern DA asks for help locating abducted child
The Kern County District Attorney’s Office is requesting public assistance finding a child who the office said was abducted by his mother two weeks ago.
According to a news release from the DA’s Office, 28-year-old Amanda Hernandez abducted her 2-year-old son Noah Jax Alexander Hernandez on March 4.
The news release stated that Noah is considered at risk and is believed to be in the Bakersfield area. A felony arrest warrant has been issued for Amanda Hernandez, who does not have custodial rights to her
son, according to the DA’s Office.
According to the news release, Noah is a Black male, standing about 2-foot-8 and weighing about 30 pounds.
He has dark-brown curly hair and brown eyes.
The DA’s Office described Amanda Hernandez as Hispanic, standing 5-foot-5 and weighing about 140 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
Noah Hernandez has been listed as a missing person and an Endangered Missing Advisory has been issued by the California Highway Patrol, the news release stated.
The District Attorney’s Office Child Abduction Unit is also investigating the case.

The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for community assistance lo
cating a missing juvenile.
According to a news release from the department, Juan Jimenez was last seen at 7 p.m. March 12 in the 3300 block of Tori Lorene Avenue.
Police described Jimenez as a 15-yearold Hispanic male, standing about 5-foot10 and weighing about 140 pounds with curly black hair, brown eyes and a small scar on the right side of his nose. Jimenez was wearing a black “Hollister” shirt, blue jeans and brown boots, the news release stated.
The department said Jimenez has no prior history of running away.
Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call the BPD at 327-7111.
A pedestrian was struck and seriously injured by a vehicle in the 2500 block of White Lane on Wednesday night.
According to a news release from the Bakersfield Police Department, the incident occurred at around 8:09 p.m. Officers responded to the scene and found a man down near the roadway. He is being treated at a hospital for life-threatening injuries, the news release stated.
The BPD said the driver of the vehicle was determined to be driving under the influence and was booked into Kern County Jail.
Police said the pedestrian was crossing the road outside a crosswalk when he was struck by the vehicle.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call the BPD at 327-7111.
The Kern County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspected homicide in Rosamond.
According to a KCSO news release sent late Wednesday night, the department said deputies were dispatched to a desert area southwest of Rattlesnake Road and found what appeared to be human remains.
Homicide detectives assumed the investigation, the news release stated.
