RICK DAVID MEDINA

December 15, 1958 - March 2, 2021

-

Born December 15th, 1958, gained his wings and left to be with the Lord on March 2nd, 2021.

As a lifelong resident of Kern County, Rick made so many positive changes, not only within his own life and family, but also through the community. Rick Medina was the owner of Safe Haven Recovery a Men’s recovery home located here in Bakersfield. For more than 20 years, he was very devoted to his career of helping those in need and those struggling with addiction. Rick loved his work and through his work he touched many lives and made long lasting friendships.

Rick Medina is survived by his 7 children and 11 grandchildren. Rick was a loving Father, Grandfather, son, brother, uncle, best friend, and above all, a confidant to all.

Words cannot describe the heartache from the void you’ve left. We will forever miss you and be loving you. For all the times you supported us with strength and love, Thank you. For all the times we forgot to say it, thank you. May you be with us always.

“The moment that you died my heart was torn in two, one side filled with heartache, the other died with you. I often lie awake at night, when the world is fast asleep, and take a walk down memory lane, with tears upon my cheeks. Remembering you is easy, I do it every day, but missing you is heart ache that never goes away. I hold you tightly within my heart and there you will remain.

Until the joyous day arrives, that we will meet again.”

Rest in Peace Rick David Medina.

Services will be held Saturday, March 27th. from 11am - 1pm at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
