Detectives investigat­ing Oildale homicide

Kern County Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigat­ing a homicide in Oildale.

The victim, whose identity has not been released, was shot in the 300 block of Sycamore, according to a KCSO news release, which did not say the time it happened.

The person died at the scene. KCSO said the investigat­ion is ongoing and asks that anyone with informatio­n cal 861-3110.

Bakersfiel­d Police are investigat­ing the Friday night shooting death of a man in the 1000 block of East 3rd Street.

Officers went to the area at about 6:40 p.m. for a report of a shooting and ShotSpotte­r activation. They found the victim, whose name has not been released, with major injuries and he died at the scene, according to a BPD news release.

No suspect informatio­n is available, BPD said.

Bakersfiel­d Police are seeking the public’s help locating a missing person whose disappeara­nce they are calling suspicious.

Edward Rodrigo Medina, 27, was last seen in the 10100 block of Wible Road at about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, BPD said. On Friday, his abandoned vehicle was found in the area of East Planz Road and South Mount Vernon Avenue.

Medina is described as Hispanic, 5’10” and 180 to 210 pounds.

A person died Saturday morning after veering off the road and striking parked heavy earth-moving equipment.

The person, whose identity has not been released, went off the 7200 block of Panama Lane in an SUV at about 10:30 a.m. for unknown reasons, BPD reported.

The driver died at a hospital.
