Former First Lady Michelle Obama, Dr. Anthony Fauci, Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey and actor-composer Lin-Manuel Miranda, along with frontline workers and medical professionals, are among those teaming up for this new hourlong special designed to raise awareness on vaccinations for the COVID-19 virus. An NBC spokesperson says the special is designed to provide information and dispel concerns on the part of those who are hesitant to receive a vaccination or are skeptical of its safety or efficacy.
8 p.m. on KBAK 56th Academy of Country Music Awards
These annual awards, which honor the biggest names and emerging new talent in country music, return to Nashville, Tenn., in a broadcast originating from three of the city’s most revered performing venues: the Grand Ole Opry House, historic Ryman Auditorium and the Bluebird Cafe. Maren Morris and Chris Stapleton lead the pack of nominees with six nods apiece; Miranda Lambert follows with five nominations.

A&E revives one of its most popular “brands” in eight new two-hour specials airing under the Biography banner. Produced in partnership with WWE studios, each of these presentations reveals personal stories behind the success of WWE’s most memorable legends.The opener chronicles a man who became WWE’s biggest star in the 1990s. His nickname notwithstanding, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin had a fiery personality that perfectly matched WWE’s so-called “Attitude Era,” transforming him into a pop culture icon who was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2009.
