Jeanette Marie Calvillo went to join her beloved John G. Calvillo in Heaven on May 2nd, 2021 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Jeanette was born to Oakley Dale and Mary Ash in Corona, Ca on June 6th, 1937. She was their only child and was raised in Arvin, Ca. where she graduated from Arvin High School in 1955. She went to Bakersfiel­d College for general education, then on to Fresno College (later known as Fresno State) to study elementary education.

After graduating college, she moved to Bakersfiel­d and began teaching at several elementary schools. She soon met the love of her life, John, and married him. Sadly, he preceded her in death in 2002. She had two sons, Johnny and Jeremy. She was a supporter of both boys in all their sports teams and activities. She enjoyed spending time with them at their practices and competitio­ns.

In her latter years she belonged to First Southern Baptist Church ladies Sunday School class. She taught at Myra A. Noble school and belonged to an elite group there called Noble ladies. She even was voted Teacher of the Year one year by Bakersfiel­d City School District.

After John died, she moved to Shawnee, Ok. to be near her son Johnny and his family. There she became part of the Red Hat Society, the Retired Teacher's Associatio­n, and the First Baptist Church of Shawnee. She loved reading, watching public television, and spending time with her family.

Left to cherish her memory are her eldest son, John, and his wife Jennifer, their daughters London and Halle. Son Jeremy and his wife Michelle, and their daughter Grace.

Services will be held at Basham Funeral Home at 620 Oregon St. on Monday, May 24th at 7 pm and burial will be Tuesday, May 25th at 11 am at Hillcrest Cemetary on Kern Canyon Road. Randy Martin will be officiatin­g.
