Janis Faye Sessions was 78 years old. She went to be with the Lord on November 6, 2021. She is a 7time cancer survivor. She was a courageous fighter and at the end of her life cancer did not take her from this earth.

Jan was born to her loving parents Manuel and Faye Green on November 3, 1943 in Kimberly, Nevada.

Jan graduated from East High School. Jan was married to her loving husband Roy for 61 years. She started her career with the Panama School District as a volunteer at Amy B. Seibert. During her time there she served as the Parent Club President and chaired the carnival committee. She was then employed by the school district and worked a total of 12 years before moving with her family to Upland California. While in Southern California she worked for a school photography company, office manager for a staffing agency and an account executive for IPG in Orange County. She and Roy retired and returned to Bakersfield in April of 2000.

Jan was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. The grandchildren lovingly referred to her as Mama Jan. She had a strong Christian faith and lived her life accordingly. Jan enjoyed sewing, painting, gardening and many crafts. Jan also had a passion for decorating. She loved decorating the home for the holidays, especially Christmas. She loved traveling to various parts

of the United States, including her favorite destinations Hawaii and Florida. Jan loved to shop and could shop for hours without buying anything. Or fill a cart in no time and come home to explain how much money she saved. Her favorite time was spent with family. For over thirty years they would spend a week in the Eastern Sierras with family. Many trips were made while living in Upland to see her grandsons Kasey and Mason Talhelm. Upon returning to Bakersfield more trips were made to Orange County to visit their grandsons Tucker and Connor Sessions. She was blessed with her first great grandchild Anthony in 2020.
