Irene (Parker) Odom went home to the Lord on November 3, 2021. She was born November 6, 1929 in Waco, Missouri to parents Lucy May (Dry) Parker and William Xavier Parker.

Irene grew up in Eastern Douglas County Missouri with siblings, Letitia Maxine and William Eugene. She graduated from Mountain Grove High School in 1947. Upon the passing of her father that same year, she moved to Sanger, California where she met the love of her life, Billy Joe Odom. They married on December 18, 1948. They moved to Bakersfield with their three children in 1957, after Bill graduated from the California Highway Patrol Academy.

Irene loved reading biographies, sewing, painting, gardening, and crocheting and knitting for charities. She loved family gatherings.

At the center of Irene's life was her love for her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a member of Valley Baptist Church. Irene was known for her quiet and gentle strength. She was never flustered but at peace. Irene was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, and great- great- grandmother.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and daughter-in- law, Sandy (McMasters) Odom. She leaves behind daughters, Diane Moore, Annette Camp, son, Michael Odom; grandchildren, Cinda Olson, Keith Moore, Ryan Moore, Curtis Camp, Benjamin Camp, Todd Camp, Melanie Parks, Dustin Odom and Max Odom: twenty-two great-grandchildren and one great-greatgrandchild. Irene will be greatly missed .

A viewing service will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Greenlawn Funeral Home Northeast. A memorial service will follow at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 18, 2021.
