Dr. Robert (Bob) Hall, DDS passed away on May 14, 2022 at Mercy Hospital Downtown Bakersfield; he was 81 years old. Bob was born on April 16, 1941 in Los Angeles, CA to Harry and Esther Hall. He graduated from George Washington H.S. in 1959 and went on to USC undergraduate and then dental school, graduating in 1967. He remained a lifelong Trojan fan. As a reserve officer in the US Navy, Bob was stationed at Guantanamo Bay Cuba. His time in the Navy was a point of pride for him and he retired as a Captain in 1995.

Bob married Lynne Hall (neé Peterson) in July 1964 having first met her in the 8th grade. They settled in Bakersfield in 1976 so Bob could join his twin brother Richard in his dental practice. His career transitioned to dental care in the California Department of Corrections in 1987 and he retired from Tehachapi State Prison as the Chief Dentist. In retirement, Bob traveled with his wife and friends and valued time with his many groups: Trinity Bible Study, Retired Dentists Breakfast Club, Gin Group at Stockdale Country Club, Seniors in Retirement (SIR), and the Bob & Byron Lunch Club. One of his favorite things was following college football and the PGA. He organized yearly football and golf pools for friends and family, enjoying bragging rights whenever his picks won. Of greatest joy to Bob, however, was his family, particularly his grandchildren. He loved being able to bring the family together yearly at the family beach house in Oxnard.

He is survived by his wife Lynne; his children, Michelle (Michael), Brian (Tammi), and Mark (Michelle); his grandchildren, Jacob, Etan, Brooke, Noah, Adam, Daniel, Andrew, and Alicia; and his sisters, Elyse Ulrich and family, and Susan Hall and her daughters, Christine (Danny), Nicole (Chad), and Karin (Brian). He has left his family a rich legacy of generosity, humor, and an abiding faith in God.

A memorial is scheduled for Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 1:30pm at Trinity Anglican Church at 11300 Campus Park Drive, Bakersfield 93311. All are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Salvation Army at 4417 Wilson Road, Bakersfield 93309.

The family would like to thank the medical staff at Mercy Downtown for their care and effort on Bob's behalf.
