JOHN GREGORY
August 21, 1941 – May 24, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved John Gregory.
Born August 21, 1941, he was raised on the streets of Bakersfield and knew just about everyone in this town! The outpouring of love we have received from family, friends and neighbors is a testament to the type of man John was. He had a heart of gold and a big personality! A nurturer of life, he was an avid gardener who tended to his garden the way he tended to his loved ones...with great love and care. He also cared deeply for his community and country. He was a proud Marine who served in Vietnam and continued to serve his community in a variety of ways, including the donation of over 25 gallons of blood.
John is survived by his wife Rhonda Gregory, sister Sue Thompson, brother Ron and Dixie Gregory, sister-in-law Debbie Gregory, his children Sheryl and Mark Mcargee, Tina Maxey, Angela and Jenny Gaggero, and his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews as well as lots of other extended family.
He joins many loved ones in heaven including his parents Floyd and Mary Gregory, Uncle Bill and Aunt Phylis Smith, his brother Fred Gregory, and his son Quinton Gregory.
Please join us in celebrating the life of a man who will be truly missed!
