DONNA MAE EDGAR

April 5, 1940 – October 13, 2022

Donna Mae Edgar age 82 died on October 13, 2022 in her home surrounded by her family.

Donna was born April 5, 1940 to Clarence and Louise West in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was the first born of a set of triplets. Her parents moved the family to California when she was three years old. Donna attended local elementary schools and Bakersfield High School. While growing up, her family lived in a part of Bakersfield then called “Little Okie,” where she met the love of her life Calvin Edgar. The two of them were married on September 28, 1957.

Donna was a homemaker and a mother to four children. She knew how to scrimp and save and often helped earn money for the family by setting up a booth at the old swap meet that was located on Wible Road. Donna loved Jesus. She also loved to receive visits from family members. She liked decorating her home and yard. Some of her favorite things to do was to go to yard sales and to look for bargains when she was shopping. When given the opportunity, Donna loved to play Bingo and visit the casino to play slots.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Louise West, her husband Calvin and her sister Mildred. She is survived by her children Shirley Darlene Rosenlieb (Steve) Sandrini, Richard Edgar, Danny Edgar (Judy), Mark Edgar, her sister Wanda Pedroza, and her brother Robert West. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 3 great-greatgrandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and her two precious dogs Tinkerbell and Midnight.

The family would like to thank her Hoffmann Hospice team for the love, care, and support they gave to Donna. A special thank you to her nurses Annie and Nate.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 10:00am at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3700 River Blvd, Bakersfield, California 93305.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or Hoffman Hospice.
