TRAVIS MABRY

September 10, 1950 – December 16, 2022

Travis was born September 10, 1950, in Clarksville, Texas to Matt and Doris Mabry and later moved to Bakersfield, California when Matt remarried to Helen Harrington.

On December 16, 2022, Travis was called home by his Lord & Savior. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 51 years, Janice (Moe) Mabry, brother-in-law Charlie Moe (Julie) whom he and Janice raised from a young age, son Aaron Mabry and daughter Alice Porter (Dave), 7 grandchildren, stepmother Helen Mabry, brother Victor Mabry (Stacy), and sisters Donna Bushman and Linda Busbea (Jesse).

Travis was preceded in death by his father Matt, mother Doris, and brother Dennis Harrington.

Travis was truly a faithful and loyal servant, husband, father, brother, brother-in-law, friend, and mentor. He loved family gatherings and golfing with his friends or any occasion that brought people together for good food where he could share his many stories. Watching his children and grandchildren succeed and enjoy life brought him great happiness and pride, but his greatest joy was the life he shared with Janice since meeting at South High School. Enjoying road trips, visits to the beach, and wine tasting together with friends or alone, they shared a love and partnership that is unmatched.

Travis served his country in the California National Guard. He retired as an Operations Manager for Bolthouse Farms in 2006 after 23 years of service.

A small service will be held to celebrate his life among family and friends on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at 1:00pm. Mission Family Mortuary, 531 California Ave.
