SADDLE BROOK - Rose Marie Ossi, (nee Guadagno) of Saddle Brook passed away peacefully August 16, 2023. She was the daughter of Josephine and Dominic Guadagno, born 01.03.34. She grew up and lived in Fort Lee until her marriage to her beloved husband George in 1955. They started their family in Hackensack moving to Saddle Brook in 1956. She immediatel­y became active in her parish, St. Philip the Apostle Church. She was the Church Administra­tive Assistant and bookkeeper for over 25 years. Rose Marie was a devout Catholic strong in her faith, very friendly and kind to everyone. Most people in the community knew or knew of her. Very active in the parish, she was a member of the Parish Council, Choir, Rosary Altar Society, Director of the Ave Maria Players, a Eucharisti­c Minister and the first woman Lector. She loved pursuing her own interests while being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmothe­r. Her network and family were everything to her. Rose Marie’s many interests included big band music, singing, reading, writing, star gazing, a master gardener, sewing, crocheting, knitting, crossword puzzles and many crafts using what most people threw away. She loved to cook & bake creating culinary delights with an Italian influence from the simplest of ingredient­s yet full of flavor. Some specialtie­s include her tomato sauces & gravies, meatballs, braciole, stuffed artichokes, risotto, macaroni pie, pizza de gran and pizza rustica, walnut balls, Christmas Butter cookies, and Linzer tarts.

She was predecease­d by her parents Dominic and Josephine, husband George and siblings: Bart, Carmen, Rose, Santina, Emil, and Nick, her nephew James and niece Maria.

She is survived by her children; Joanne (David) Vega, Gigi Hepperle, (Jim), Stephen (Amy) and Paula Plati (Fred), grandchild­ren Marissa, Christian, Melanie, Kyle, Leah and Lizzie, her brother and sister-in-law Richard Ossi & Carol Ossi, many nieces, nephews and friends, and her fur baby, Ebony.

Visitation at Kugler Funeral Home in Saddle Brook on Monday August 21, 2023 from 3:00-8:00 P.M. Funeral Mass is at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday August 22, at St. Philip the Apostle Church in Saddle Brook.
