Neutrogena moving operations from LA to New Jersey
2026 consolidation in Union County reported
Neutrogena – a skincare company based in Los Angeles since it was launched in the 1930s – is shutting down its West Coast operations and consolidating them in the North Jersey city of Summit.
Its parent company – Kenvue, a Johnson & Johnson spinoff – is moving those employees and dozens more to a sprawling 290,000-square-foot headquarters in Union County in 2026, according to business publication ROI-NJ. Kenvue is currently based in Skillman, Somerset County.
Kenvue, which posted $15.4 billion in net sales last year, owns several well-known brands such as Tylenol, Listerine, Band-Aid and Benadryl.
“We are evolving our operations to reach more consumers, optimize collaboration and broaden talent and career opportunities for all Kenvuers, and drive sustainable growth,” said Melissa Witt, a spokesperson for Kenvue.
Kenvue is letting go of 84 employees as part of the move, according to a public filing in California. Bloomberg News reported last week that 74 of those employees were offered relocation and employment at other Kenvue facilities.
It is also cutting 51 jobs in Skillman this spring and summer, according to filings with the state Department of Labor.
“Decisions impacting our employees are never easy,” Witt said. “We are fully committed to providing those affected by this change with the resources and support they may need.”
