Former top pick Oden chooses Heat

Mike Conley Sr., one of Greg Oden’s agents, said the center told the Miami Heat that he will accept their contract offer. Oden informed the two-time defending champions of his decision and is expected to sign in the coming days. The deal will pay him about $1 million this season. He will have a player option for the 2014-15 season. Oden hasn’t played an NBA game since 2009 because of a series of knee problems . . .
